WaWa Kenya

Community weaving project.

We are changing the narrative of over-dependence on fishing and fish selling as the only means of survival for the community living along Lake Victoria region, HomaBay- Kenya.

Through the provision of appropriate vocational skills, we are supporting the fisher folk women in creating diversified income generating streams for themselves to sustain their households.

Weaving is one of the skills we offer training on. The participants were able to recreate their stories through basket weaving

The outcome of this is clear evidence of their determination to improve their economic status and contribute to the overall development of their community as influential partners.
