This quarter, WA-WA Kenya continued empowering women and youth around Lake Victoria through skills training, economic opportunities, and access to healthcare.
We are proud to share that 69 of 119 women trained in vocational skills are now either formally employed or self-employed, while 47 women completed their latest vocational training cohort and are preparing for graduation. Our newly launched WA-WA Bakery also trained 10 women, helping them begin earning an income.
Beyond economic empowerment, 1,790 women accessed cervical cancer screening, with WA-WA Kenya supporting treatment for those diagnosed.
Behind every number is a woman gaining skills, income, confidence, dignity and a community moving closer to a future free from vulnerability and sex-for-fish.
