New Chapter: 16 Trainees Begin Their Journey at WA-WA Kenya

Today marked the start of something new.

Sixteen women, each with her own story and hopes, walked through our doors for orientation. Some came from fishing villages. Others from homes where food is scarce and choices are fewer.

They came to learn.

Over the next few months, this cohort will receive hands-on training in hairdressing and beauty therapy, computer packages, paper making, soap making and more. They’ll learn how to run a small business, set prices, and build a customer base.

More importantly, they’ll learn that they have options. That they don’t have to depend on ‘sex-for-fish’ to survive. That their hands can earn without their dignity being traded.
